Last Day of AIS'17/AFRINIC-26 Thank you! 

Over 640 attendees made their way to Nairobi for the AIS'17 to attend almost two weeks worth of training, workshops, parallel meetings, plenaries, social events and networking opportunities.The Closing Ceremony saw Alan Barrett and Dr Nii Quaynor give a closing speech. Kemi Adeboji from the NIRA announced the AFRINIC-27 location in Lagos in Nigeria followed by Dr Chérif Diallo from the Ministry of ICT in Senegal who then announced the location for AIS'17. 

We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the AIS'17/AFRINIC-26 successful. We certainly couldn't have done it without our host, TESPOK and The Kenyan Ministry or Information, Communications and Technology, our generous partners and sponsors and of course our fantastic attendees. We look forward to seeing you all next year in Senegal for the AIS'18.

Highlights of the Day

The last morning of AIS'17 promised a packed agenda with panel sessions and presentations on a wide variety of topics and didn't disappoint! 

The Day kickstarted with the ICANN Africa Strategy session. Pierre Dandjinou,VP Global Stakeholder Engagement (GSE) Africa and Akinori Maemura ICANN Board Member gave a welcome speech. This was followed by an update on the Africa DNS Market Study by Yaovi Atohun. David Conrad then presented on the KSK and the ongoing DNSSEC efforts at ICANN and Alain Durand  spoke on the Information on Digital Object Architecture. The concluding remark  was made by Pierre Dandjinou who invited participants to attend the next ICANN meeting in Johannesburg.  Other topics on the day included:
