Highlight of the Day: AGMM and Board Elections
AFRINIC Members and community observers gathered on 9th June at 14:00 for the AFRINIC Annual General Members' Meeting.
Elections for the open seats on the Board of Directors took place. The following candidates were elected by the Members:

The AGMM proceedings included: Board / AFRINIC / Finances activities updates from the Chair, CEO and the members of the AFRINIC Board Finance committee: Hytham El Nakhal and Andrew Alston respectively.
ASO-AC / NRO-AC Election
Elections for the AFRINIC region's representatives on the ASO-AC / NRO-NC took place. Maina Noah with 135 vote counts was elected by the community to serve a three-year term.
RIR Global updates
The day started with updates from the four other RIRs - APNIC (Paul Wilson), ARIN (Leslie Nobile), LACNIC (Sergio Rojas) and the RIPE NCC (Axle Pawlik). This was followed by the IANA Update (Selina Harrington) and the ASO Update (Fiona Asonga).
AFRINIC Updates
AFRINIC staff presented on their various projects on the New AFRINIC WHOIS Features (Simon Seruyinda), AFRINIC Internet Routing Registry (Keesun Fokeerah) and the IPv6 Program Reboot (Mukom Tamon). There were also a presentation by Madhvi Gokool on IPv4 depletion and how it impacts our Resources Members and Jan Scholte on Power after IANA: Who/What controls the Global Internet Now.

Last Night's Gala Dinner
The AIS'17/AFRINIC-26 Gala Dinner took place last night at the Carnivore Restaurant. Generously sponsored by the Communications Authority of Kenya , the Gala Dinner was a night remember, with local culture, music, food, dancing and more. Traditional dress was encouraged and attendees dug out special and elaborate outfits for the occasion.
